1956 Les Paul Gold Top – reissue from ’88

2470

My dad gave me this guitar when I was 19. He purchased it from his barber, who needed some extra cash. I have the signed Les Paul pickguard stashed in a safe deposit box. There are 200 of these guitars floating around.

This guitar plays like a dream. It’s never seen the stage. Just used it with the home rig all these years, and while recording. I’ll get into the nuts and bolts later, but it has P-90s in it. Contrary to some beliefs that it has P-100s. And the debate rages on.

Famed guitar photographer Robbie Lawrence included my reissue in one of his Hal Leonard coffee table books. He knew Les Paul well and interviewed him many times.

Spent most of his life having a love affair with guitar (and gear).
