Speak softly and carry a Strumstick

1883

I’ve picked up a couple of McNally Strumsticks along the journey.

The longer one with the abalone inlay around the soundhole is the D-33 Grand Strumstick. The top is Koa.

The shorter one is the G-29 with a spruce top.

The thing about these strum sticks is that you simply can’t play a wrong note. It’s the way the frets are setup.

Both sound like a cross between a mandolin and a banjo.

Spent most of his life having a love affair with guitar (and gear).
